About the Show
Elf The Musical is a heartwarming, comedic stage adaptation of the popular 2003 holiday movie Elf, centering on Buddy, a human raised by Santa's elves at the North Pole.
Buddy is blissfully unaware of his human heritage until he overhears the truth: he was accidentally brought to the North Pole as a baby and has biological parents in New York City.
Determined to find his family, Buddy heads to New York, only to discover his father, Walter Hobbs, is a workaholic who’s landed on Santa’s “naughty list.”
Despite being out of place and clumsy in the fast-paced city, Buddy’s unrelenting cheer begins to work its magic. He forms a bond with his half-brother, Michael, and falls for a skeptical department store worker, Jovie. However, his quirky behavior and love of Christmas initially baffle and irritate his father.
After several mishaps and misunderstandings, Buddy finally helps his family and the entire city find the true meaning of Christmas.
Based upon the New Line Cinema film written by David Berenbaum.
- Music by Matthew Sklar
- Book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin
